The inscription of the fountain
Recâî Mehmed nâm eminü’d-devle sâhib-i cûd
Ki oldu zâtı câh-ı defteriye mâ-bihi’t-tebhîc
Li-vechillâh edip bu çeşme-sâr ü mektebi ibdâ
Rızâ-yı Hakkı tahsil etdiğinde şüphe yoktur hiç
Duâsın su gibi etfâl-i devrân eyleyip ezber
Dü âlemde ola bu hayr-ı cârî bâdî-i tefrîc
Teâlallâh zihî mâi’l-hayât-ı rûh-perver kim
Letâfetle zülâl-i Adn ile hem-mâye-i temzîc
Senâ-kâr-ı kadîm ü müstedîmi bende-i Şâkir
Muammâ-gûne târîhin eder bu beytten tahrîc
Bu târîh-i sebîlde eyleyip suyu başından sayd
Dedi atşâna “Sâhib-hayr olan âbımdan el aç iç”

Sâhibü’l-hayr Mehemmed ola âfetten emîn
Bang-i “âmîn”i kopardıkça gürûh-ı sıbyân
Derse teşvîk için etfâle denilsin Şâkir
“Oldu o dârü’l-ilim nev nefes-i Hakk-ı Kur’ân”
