Conference titled "Bosnia: A Challenge for the Christian and Muslim States in Europe" by Professor Hajo Funke from Free University of Berlin

Abstract

Describing the latter as a deep European, Western and international crisis, and the attack on Bosnia as one of the bloodiest aggressions since World War II, the lecturer elaborated upon three main questions : first, how and why did the war happen, where he analyzed, from a historical perspective, the mobilisation of the Serbian extremist movement into an attack to divide and conquer Bosnia. Secondly, he looked into what was, and what is now, the responsibility of the other States of the international community and especially the West and Europe; and third, into what the most important challenges of the international community are, today, to meet the threat facing Bosnia.
