Abstract

In this letter Mr. Green states that he is writing on the history of Daghestan during the period 1917-1921 and asks about several issues regarding it, especially the 1st and 2nd Congresses of the Mountaineers. Besides, many details on these congresses such as the participants, decisions, durations are asked. Also there are questions on Armanian massacres of the Azeris, several governments established by the Caucasians, Bammate’s views and comments on several developments, activities of the Teşkilat-ı Mahsusa (Turkish secret organization) in the Caucasus and of the Cemiyet-i Hayriye and Cemiyet-i İslam, the Muslim Council in Baku in 1917, İspolkom (Executive Committee). Green says he is enclosing a short article by a young Karaçay medical student from the first issue of a new magazine “Birleşik Kafkasya” which includes a painting of the Andi assembly. He also states that he is enclosing a picture of himself and in return hopes to receive some pictures of Bammate and his colleagues of 1917-1921.
