Kâzım Zaim (1948-) was born in Prizren, Kosovo, and immigrated to Istanbul with his family in 1958. He left his education and worked at the famous Bela and Baysal Studios in Beyoğlu. In 1970, he opened his own studio called Foto ZAİM in Çapa, Istanbul. He photographed his trips to Istanbul, Anatolia, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Macedonia. He worked as a photography director for various newspapers and magazines. Upon his return from Bosnia in 1995, he participated in the photography exhibition War and Bosnia. He photographed the historical and cultural texture of the Eyüp district between 1996-1998, endowing the district with a modern archive. Kâzım Zaim won over one hundred awards in photography competitions held in Turkey between 1975 and 2000 on various subjects. He donated his photographs of the Fatih and Eminönü mosques in Istanbul to IRCICA.
