Among the most valuable books in the IRCICA Library and Archive's rare books collection are the Müteferrika's volumes. These works were printed in the first Turkish printing house established by İbrahim Müteferrika (d. 1160/1747). Its first book was published in 1729 and by 1743, 17 books in 23 volumes (each with between 500 and 1,000 copies) in different topics such as history, geography, and languages, as well as military were printed.
